GCC EMPLOYBILITY & SKILLING PROGRAM

Global Capability Centers (GCC) are in-house units or subsidiaries of multinational companies, performing functions like IT, finance, HR, R&D, analytics, and customer support. Located in cost-effective regions like India, Poland, and the Philippines, GCCs get to operate with skilled talent at better operational costs and offer better control, quality, and innovation than traditional outsourcing. Today, about 50% of world’s GCCs are located in India, employing over 20 Lakh people at locations including Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai, Pune, Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Kochi, Nasik and many more.

GCC Employability & Skilling Program or G.E.S.P. is a joint initiative between Symbiosis Open Education Society and its industry partner. It aims at training young graduates through skill-based training in job roles including - Financial Analyst, HR & Talent Acquisition, Securities Market Analyst, Customer Support Associate, Logistics Coordinator, Market Researcher, Global Banking Operations Associate, Business Analyst, Accounts Executive, Data Analyst, Support Executive and others. It focuses on sectors like Retail, Consulting, BFSI, Securities Markets, Healthcare, Manufacturing, IT, Logistics & SCM etc.

Symbiosis Skills & Professional University (SSPU) has designed nine full time training courses aligned with above job roles. Training includes industry intervention in the form of on the job training or a live case study or an industry-based assignment. G.E.S.P. is implemented by SSPU and financially supported by its industry partner. Training is offered free of cost to enrolled candidates.

First batches have started from January 2025 at Pune. Training will also start in Mumbai and Delhi in January, while it will start at other locations from April onward.

Durations vary from course to course, typically being between 3 to 4 months. About 5 hours of training is conducted every day.

Eligibility varies with the course, but candidates must be graduates of any stream (in some cases, technical graduate degrees may be required) or should be in the last semester of graduate studies, looking for a job, and willing to dedicate time to attend the training. Candidates from rural areas, tier 2 or 3 colleges, or underprivileged sections of society will be given preference.

Yes. All courses are free of cost to all students selected.

Symbiosis Skills and Professional University (SSPU) will conduct the examination. A joint certificate will be awarded to candidates completing the course successfully. SSPU is India’s pioneering skill development university based out of Pune and ranked #1 in NIRF 2024 under the Skill University Category.

Yes, you can mention this at the time of application and submit results of previous years. Make sure you submit the result of the last year once it is declared. Preference is given to candidates who have completed their graduate studies and are looking for jobs.

As per the university norms, a minimum of 75% attendance is required to appear for the final assessment of courses.

Yes, we shall provide placement and industry engagement opportunities to all students who complete the course successfully. Companies may visit the campus or call students to their premises as necessary.

We focus on practical and hands-on skills while conducting every training program. All courses focus 70% on practical and not more than 30% on theory components.
